COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO DISASTER RELIEF FUND

Fund activated in response to the March 14, 2024, tornado(es) and storm

Madison, IN – The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County (CFMJC) is accepting donations to its Disaster Relief Fund in response to needs created by the March 14, 2024, tornado(es) and storm. 100% of the donations will be used to address the needs of those affected in our community, and anyone can give to the fund.

“We are thinking about everyone impacted by yesterday’s storm and know there will be both immediate and longer-term needs for our fellow residents,” said Bill Barnes, President & CEO of the Community Foundation. “While the full extent of the damage isn’t known at this time, we want to give anyone the opportunity to help by making a tax-deductible gift that will be used to directly address the needs of our community, now and in the near future.”

The Community Foundation will work with local government and nonprofit organizations to allocate grants from the Disaster Relief Fund to provide assistance to those in need and determine how much of its own financial resources will be directed to emergency relief.

Those interested may give online at www.cfmjc.org, make a check payable to CFMJC Disaster and send it to CFMJC, PO Box 306, Madison, Indiana, or drop by the Community Foundation’s office at 416 West Street in downtown Madison, Indiana, between 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.

Established in 1991 by a group of local volunteers, the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County fulfills the mission of building a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects, and passions of Jefferson County.
